Warehousing

Company overview

Vimaan builds AI-powered computer vision products for Inventory Intelligence, giving warehouses and distribution centers near real-time visibility into what inventory they have, where it sits, what condition it’s in, etc. The universal platform across all their products combines proprietary hardware like cameras and sensors for inventory capture, industry-trained AI & computer vision models for data processing, and advanced analytics for customer-relevant insights and recommendations to drive business outcomes. The products and results integrate seamlessly with warehouses and DCs’ existing infrastructure including WMS and ERPs. StorTRACK handles automated cycle counting and is offered as both a fully autonomous and a semi-automated option depending on a facility's needs. At the dock, PalletSCAN captures, counts, and validates palletized goods as they arrive and ship, while ParcelSCAN does the same for high volume parcels and packages, reading barcodes, interpreting label text through OCR, dimensioning, and inspecting for damage in the process. Across all three, ViewDECK, Vimaan's visualization layer, gives warehouse teams a live view of inventory and a searchable record of every scan.

Vimaan offers these products in two ways: customers can purchase them outright, or subscribe to them through a hardware-as-a-service arrangement which they often call Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS). Under the subscription, Vimaan owns, installs, and maintains the hardware, keeping the capital cost and upkeep off the customer's books, and the recurring fee covers continued access to the AI-powered computer vision platform and ViewDECK along with the ongoing model tuning and customer support that hold accuracy high as a facility's inventory, packaging, and layout change over time. Because the systems stay under Vimaan's management, the relationship runs across the life of the deployment rather than ending at a one-time sale, and accuracy compounds as the vision models learn each specific operation.

"Warehouses and DCs don't want cameras and software to manage, they want to trust the number in their WMS," says KG Ganapathi, Founder and CEO at Vimaan. "So we give them a choice: buy the systems outright, or let us run them as a service. With the subscription, we own and maintain everything, and the customer pays for the outcomes—100% inventory accuracy, up to 80% labor cost reduction and a digital record of everything. The advantage compounds over time, because the longer our AI & computer vision models runs in a facility, the better it understands that specific operation, and the more accurate every count gets.”
