Company overview
Stevens Water Monitoring Systems manufactures environmental data acquisition hardware for hydrology, soil science, agronomy, meteorology, and infrastructure monitoring. The product line spans the HydraProbe rugged soil sensor that measures moisture, salinity, and temperature with patented continuous-accuracy technology; the eTracker cellular telemetry station controller that connects sensors directly to the cloud; the Steelhead two-way data logger configurable via Bluetooth or the SkyView360 cloud platform; multi-parameter sondes for water quality monitoring; and the POGO portable handheld system used by sports turf managers to measure moisture and salinity in the top 2.5 inches of soil. The SkyView360 cloud platform aggregates data from every deployed device into a single dashboard with drag-and-drop visualization, virtual sensor calculations, email and SMS alarms, an open API that lets other systems pull the data automatically, and remote hardware configuration.
Stevens operates a hybrid hardware-as-a-service model that pairs sensor and telemetry hardware sales with the SkyView360 subscription. Customers purchase the hardware upfront, then bundle it with the SkyView360 platform for ongoing data acquisition, alerting, and reporting. The model targets organizations operating distributed monitoring networks across difficult terrain—a national water authority running watersheds across an island, a state air quality regulator running camera and sensor stations across hundreds of sites, a university research department instrumenting a watershed, or a golf course superintendent managing soil moisture across 18 holes.
