Cameras

Company overview

Reconyx manufactures field cameras that record what a human can't be there to see, then either holds the photo on a local SD card for the field tech to pick up later or pushes it over the cellular network the moment it triggers. The current product lineup runs from the HyperFire 2 (sold in cellular and non-cellular variants) up to the newer HyperFire 4K family with native 4K resolution, all built in Holmen, Wisconsin and backed by a five-year warranty. Wildlife researchers tracking animal populations for federal and state agencies, hunters and outfitters scouting deer and elk patterns, and law-enforcement teams running covert surveillance at remote sites all rely on the same camera platform, distributed primarily through resellers like Perdix Wildlife Supplies and direct enterprise sales. The Enterprise Cellular Program runs alongside the cellular hardware: organizations operating multiple cellular cameras get the Reconyx Enterprise Portal for centralized camera management and consolidated monthly billing, plus optional image forwarding that routes captures to the customer's own server through a Reconyx API.

Reconyx's commercial model is hybrid recurring for the enterprise slice and a one-time hardware purchase for everyone else. The Enterprise Cellular Program turns the camera into a managed fleet, with one monthly invoice replacing the personal credit cards individual users would otherwise run through the mobile app, and a single administrator replacing the per-camera setup. That operational consolidation makes the program viable for a multi-site research program or a covert-surveillance unit, and it carries Reconyx into a recurring relationship instead of a one-time sale.
