Company overview

Ranch Systems makes wireless telemetry hardware for properties where running cable to every sensor isn't practical: vineyards, orchards, row crops, cattle ranches, and groundwater management sites in which monitoring points are spread across hundreds of acres. The core of most deployments is the RM400 Monitoring and Control Unit, a data logger that coordinates whole-property irrigation networks and controls up to 48 valves from a single node. The RS330 is a cellular telemetry node that runs standalone or as part of a RanchMesh network—Ranch Systems' wireless mesh that links multiple devices across a property without each one needing its own cellular connection. The compact RS130 and the RS10 Bluetooth Transmitter cover smaller or lower-power deployments. The RanchDL data logger family handles water level, soil moisture, pressure, weather, leaf wetness, water meter, and pump monitoring through Bluetooth uploads to the myRanch app. All sensor data flows into Ranch Cloud, a private dashboard that provides real-time visualization, irrigation valve control, microclimate and frost alerting, and reporting, hosted on dedicated private servers with failover across geographically separate data centers.

Ranch Systems operates a hybrid hardware-as-a-service model that bundles hardware with the Ranch Cloud platform for ongoing sensor data aggregation, valve control, and reporting. The RS10 Bluetooth Transmitter & Data Logger is $500, and RanchDL bundles start at $552 depending on sensor configuration. The myRanch mobile app and basic cloud access ship free with RanchDL devices, and full Ranch Cloud subscription pricing is configured per deployment. The model lets a vineyard manager start with a single weather station and a few soil moisture sensors at one site, then scale across multiple ranches and crops without renegotiating the underlying platform.

"RanchDL solutions provide users professional-grade monitoring tools that scale with their needs," says Jacob Christfort, Founder and President of Ranch Systems. "You can start small with a single RS10 Data Logger and grow all the way to a large, real-time connected telemetry system—all without losing your original logger and sensor investment."
