Company overview
Pulsa monitors gas, liquid, weight, and temperature levels inside customers' tanks, cylinders, and refrigeration assets, and pushes a reading to the cloud every three minutes so an operator can see when a CO2 tank, cryogenic dewar, or freezer is drifting before it goes empty or warm. The hardware portfolio spans the Pulsa Gateway, an industrial cellular hub that fans out to up to 1,000 wireless sensors over 2.4 GHz at a 350-foot range, and the Pulsa Frontier Link, a battery-powered cellular unit that brings the same telemetry to off-grid and remote sites. Sensors include the Pulsa Pressure Sensor and Pulsa Differential Pressure Sensor for headspace and liquid level, the Pulsa Industrial Scale, Pulsa Light Scale, and Pulsa Puck Scale for weight-based monitoring, and Pulsa Temperature Sensors for freezers and refrigerators. The Pulsa Link adapter pulls existing third-party meters with 4-20mA or 0-5V outputs into the same network, which keeps customers from ripping out installed sensors. The Pulsa Platform gives operators a unified web and mobile dashboard, configurable email and SMS alerts, and the Pulsa Reporting analytics module that surfaces fill events, runtime forecasts, and anomaly detection across every site.
Pulsa runs a hybrid hardware-as-a-service model. Customers purchase the sensors, the Gateway or Frontier Link, and a paid Pulsa Installation Service that gets the network commissioned on tanks and cylinders already in the field. The recurring layer sits in the cellular-connected Pulsa Platform, which carries the dashboard, the alerting fabric, the analytics, and the cellular data that the hardware needs to keep reporting. Pulsa sells consultatively through a sales team segmented by gas distribution and hospitality. The dependency creates an annuity-shaped revenue stream against the installed base: a deployed gateway and its sensors only deliver value while the platform is active, which means customers keep paying across seasons, equipment refreshes, and acquisitions, and Pulsa keeps shipping software updates, including the Reporting module added in 2024.
