Company overview

MultiTech designs and manufactures industrial connectivity hardware—the gateways, routers, and modems that link remote equipment to the internet—and the cloud platform that manages it. The flagship MultiTech Conduit line spans the indoor Conduit AP, the weatherproof outdoor Conduit for harsh environments, and the programmable Conduit 300 Series for edge applications. All three handle two-way communication over cellular networks, and the Conduit line also supports LoRaWAN: a long-range, low-power wireless standard designed for connecting sensors and equipment that can't rely on WiFi or cellular. The company also manufactures cellular modems that embed directly into third-party devices, external routers, the Geneva Platform with an LTE Cat 1 bis modem (a low-power cellular standard built for devices that need to run for years on a single battery), and the CT300 Wireless Current Transformer for energy monitoring. DeviceHQ is the company's cloud-based device management platform: it handles remote setup of newly deployed devices without requiring a technician on-site, pushes firmware and application updates to devices in the field, monitors fleet health from a single web console, and includes an application marketplace where customers can deploy IoT software directly to remote hardware.

MultiTech operates a hybrid hardware-as-a-service model that bundles hardware, software, and cloud services into a complete IoT delivery stack. Customers purchase Conduit gateways, modems, and sensors through MultiTech's distributor network, then access DeviceHQ for ongoing remote management, firmware updates, and application deployment. The model lets a deployment team push a configuration change or firmware update to thousands of gateways from a single web console rather than dispatching technicians to each site, which is the unit economics that justify the recurring relationship: every truck roll avoided is a hard cost saved on the customer's side. The company has positioned itself as a full-stack provider rather than a hardware-only vendor, transforming its half-century of communications-equipment expertise into a recurring software relationship layered over its industrial IoT hardware.
