Water

Company overview

HydroPoint installs smart irrigation controllers at a customer's site, pulls in localized weather and evapotranspiration data, and adjusts each zone's water schedule to actual plant need so the property manager, facilities team, or HOA isn't overwatering its turf and trees. The hardware comes in two families. WeatherTRAK is the company's original ET-based smart irrigation line, designed for portfolio-wide remote management from light-commercial sites up through enterprise multi-site operations. Baseline sits alongside it for the most complex single sites, with soil-moisture sensors and two-wire architecture for large central-control deployments. Both feed a cloud stack that handles scheduling, anomaly detection, flow monitoring, leak alerts, and budget reporting against actual water-utility bills, and WaterCompass layers analytics and water-management consulting on top of the deployed fleet so a portfolio operator can see irrigation runtime, indoor usage, and anomalies in one place.

The commercial model is hybrid recurring: the customer buys the controllers and the on-site installation as a capital purchase, then carries an annual subscription for the cloud platform, the analytics, and the ongoing service against the deployed fleet for the life of the property. Solutions typically deliver payback in as little as 24 to 36 months on the water savings alone. Pricing scales with the asset count and the size of the portfolio, with enterprise customers like Lowe's running thousands of controllers under a single contract. The recurring layer is what makes the model work for both sides: HydroPoint keeps eyes on the data, and the customer keeps the savings compounding past year one.
