Geotab provides a fleet intelligence platform built around its plug-and-play GO device family and the MyGeotab cloud software platform. The GO devices connect directly to a vehicle’s onboard systems, allowing them to automatically collect GPS location, engine and diagnostic data, fuel usage, idling time, harsh driving events, and collision signals across everything from passenger vehicles to heavy-duty trucks and equipment. The hardware can be expanded through add-on modules and certified third-party devices, enabling fleets to add capabilities such as driver identification, temperature monitoring, or camera integrations without replacing the core device. All collected data flows into MyGeotab, where fleet operators gain visibility into safety, maintenance, vehicle utilization, regulatory compliance, sustainability, and electrification through configurable dashboards, reports, and alerts, supported by a broad marketplace of partner applications.

Geotab operates a hybrid hardware-as-a-service model that combines upfront hardware purchase with mandatory recurring software subscriptions. Customers buy the GO device once per vehicle, while ongoing access to the MyGeotab platform is licensed on a per-vehicle, per-month basis across tiered plans that unlock progressively deeper functionality. Longer contract terms reduce monthly costs, and most deployments are sold and supported through Geotab’s extensive global reseller network. Economically, the hardware establishes a durable installed base, while the recurring subscription delivers the majority of lifetime value through continuous firmware updates, cloud analytics, compliance tooling, and ecosystem integrations that evolve over the life of the fleet.
