Company overview
Epiphan Video makes the video-capture and streaming appliances that universities, corporate AV teams, broadcast operations, and live event producers install in classrooms, studios, courtrooms, control rooms, and houses of worship. The Pearl line of encoders is the core hardware: the Pearl-2 4K flagship production encoder with up to six channels, the Pearl Mini touchscreen system for lecture capture, the Pearl Nexus 1RU encoder built into Epiphan's lecture-capture bundles for deployment at classroom scale, and the Pearl Nano for compact single-channel SRT contribution. The EC20 PTZ Camera extends the lineup into cloud-managed PTZ optics, and the AV.io HD+ and AV.io SDI+ capture cards plug into existing computer workflows for engineers who already have a switcher. All of this is managed through three cloud platforms: Epiphan Edge centralizes device monitoring, remote production control, layout switching, and firmware rollouts across the deployed fleet; Epiphan Connect pulls broadcast-quality video and isolated audio out of Zoom and Microsoft Teams meetings for use in professional production; and Epiphan Unify hosts the live switching, multi-platform streaming, cloud recording, and 4K production workflow from anywhere a producer can open a browser.
The hardware is a one-time purchase through Epiphan's direct sales team or its reseller channel; the recurring layer sits on top across three distinct cloud subscriptions. Epiphan Edge runs free for basic device monitoring and $20 to $25 per device per month for the Premium plan (depending on annual or monthly billing), unlocking remote production control, batch firmware upgrades, and shared archive storage across the deployed fleet. Epiphan Connect captures Zoom and Microsoft Teams meetings through a tiered model that scales by number of participant extractions, with the first fifteen minutes of every meeting free and Reserved Capacity available for annual commitments. Epiphan Unify is hour-based at $25 for cloud video switching, with Reserved Capacity discounts of up to 75% for committed-volume customers. The model is hybrid recurring: customers buy the appliance once, then pay per device and per production hour as their operation scales.

"Managing cameras at scale has traditionally been painful," says Yusupha Touray, Vice President of Product at Epiphan Video. "Manual setup, no central visibility, drifting image settings, and time-consuming updates. EC20 changes that model entirely. It's not just a camera. It's a new way to deploy and operate video infrastructure, built for the scale our ProAV customers actually need."
