Company overview

BatteryDAQ makes monitoring hardware for backup power systems—the battery banks that keep utility substations, cell towers, data centers, and industrial facilities running when the grid goes down. The problem these systems solve is that batteries degrade gradually and fail suddenly: a bank can look functional right up until the moment it doesn't. The Sentry product line spans more than 15 models for different deployment environments, including the Sentry-6002NEMA, a sealed unit designed for utility battery rooms with a 20-year service life, and advanced models supporting UPS systems up to 630 volts. Each unit measures voltage, temperature, and internal resistance (the most telling indicator of a battery that's losing its ability to hold a charge) across every individual cell in a bank, continuously. GenPro is a separate monitor for generator starting batteries that flags cells likely to fail before a startup attempt rather than after. OEM Modules let third parties embed BatteryDAQ sensing into their own power equipment. All of it feeds into the MyBattery Platform, a cloud dashboard with real-time alarms, site mapping, and a data analysis engine built on what BatteryDAQ describes as more than 20 years of battery conditioning expertise.

The company operates a hybrid hardware-as-a-service model that pairs hardware sales with an ongoing cloud monitoring service. Customers purchase Sentry units, GenPro modules, and dashboards through BatteryDAQ's online store or through system integrator partners, then bundle the hardware with the MyBattery cloud platform for centralized monitoring across distributed sites. Rather than requiring each site to maintain its own local monitoring infrastructure, MyBattery rolls every Sentry unit's data into a single web-based view with site rankings that prioritize the most urgent maintenance visits. Customers needing only basic local monitoring can use the free Battery Analyzer PC tool indefinitely.
